WPV Gearbox for Vertical Mill Drives

The "WPV" type for the "vertical mill drive":

  • 3 stage reduction gear, 1st stage bevel gear, 2nd and 3rd stage epicyclic.
  • Uniform load distributed without offset from the mill table directly to the foundation
  • Torque Split, 2nd stage has only 70% of the torque
  • Optimized force flow
  • Small gear wheels
  • High Efficiency

    The range of WPU standard series:
    WPU-142 to WPU-420
    Power: 4,000 kW to 9,000 kW

CPU Gearbox - for Cement Mill

The "CPU" type "horizontal drive for Ball Mills:

  • Two stage epicyclic gear drive

  • Stand alone unit

  • White metal (babbitted) sleeve bearings throughout - w/unlimited lifetime.

The range of CPU standard series:
CPU-11 to CPU-83
Power: 1000 to 10,000 kW

  • All the benefits of the "CPU" listed above plus

  • Reduced installation time

  • Use of existing foundation and anchor bolts

  • Ability to replace an existing gear utilizing the same shaft-to-shaft end details, flange connections, and in many cases, the existing couplings

 

 

 


Side Drive for Mill Gears

The "LDG" type - Integrated Side Drive

The LGD gearbox from MAAG is designed with the state of the art technique, i.e. torque-split pinions and self-aligning pinions.

  • Low foundation design, i.e. compact mill arrangement
  • Low risk of vibration in the gear unit foundation
  • Easy access for service and maintenance
  • Direct lube oil return from the girth gear into the integrated lube oil tank minimum oil flow in the girth gear guard, i.e. minimum contamination of the lube oil

 


All MAAG heavy duty drive units utilize:

  • Case carburized and ground gearing (except ring gears)
  • Longitudinal tooth profile corrections performed asymmetrically to which takes into account: bending and torsion.  Asymmetrical lead modifications is the only way to assure even load distribution across the entire tooth flank.
  • Quality - process-based management system (certified by SGS) in strict compliance with ISO 9001:2000.
