RENK-MAAG Synchronous Clutch Coupling:

The synchronous clutch coupling has been designed to be used in high power and speed machinery to couple and decouple shaft systems while they are operating.

The clutch is a combination of a free-wheel and a toothed coupling taking care of synchronizing and torque transmission respectively

Unique Advantages of the RENK-MAAG Synchronizing Clutch or Clutch-Coupling

  1. The power path never travels through the synchronizing apparatus.  Therefore clutch failure is nearly impossible.
  2. The clutch assembly is essentially a gear type coupling capable of misalignment as any gear type spacer coupling would serve.  Therefore Renk-MAAG clutches do not require driving/driven couplings. Therefore;
  1. The clutch assembly is totally lighter than a competitors which would require added weight of the couplings and independent clutch housing with dedicated bearings.
  2. With the absence of dedicated bearings considerably less lube oil is required.
